ChatGPTs: perspective application for employment

At the present level of artificial intelligence technology’s development, the ChatGPTs (generative pre-trained transformers) have become the most attractive and discussed issue, together with learning language models, both around the world and in Europe. Some users have already found that such artificial intelligence’s chatbots represent a useful tool, while others found certain limitations and drawbacks in interactions.

Wide-spread artificial intelligence (AI) technologies can help workers in numerous occasions. For example, already during last few years GPTs have become more efficient and managed to perform better in solving more and more complex tasks and providing solutions to more issues.
Presently, scientists have analyzed different jobs’ exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning by using latest machine learning language models (LLM). Thus, a recently released GPT-4 (including human expertise) underlined significant potential implications of language models on occupations within the US job market.

“Exposure’s” measurements
Researchers for example, found out that about 80 per cent of the US workforce could have at least 10 per cent of their work tasks affected by GPTs. Researchers from OpenAI (the company created the popular GPT-chatbot), OpenResearch company and the American University of Pennsylvania examined the “exposure” of work tasks to AI – “without distinguishing between labour-augmenting or labour-displacing effects”.
Scientists were defining “exposure” as a measure of whether access to a GPT-powered system could reduce the time it takes for a human being to perform a specific work task by at least 50 per cent.
Thus, the occupations that might be 100 percent exposed are: mathematicians, tax accountants, financial quantitative analysts, writers and authors, as well as web and digital interface designers.
The following occupations are expected to be affected by 78-85 percent: survey researchers (84.4%), interpreters and translators (82.4%), public relations specialists (80.6%), animal scientists (77.8%)
The language models, LLMs meanwhile listed the following professions to be exposed by 100 per cent: mathematicians, accountants and auditors; news analysts, reporters, and journalists; legal and administrative assistants; clinical data managers; and climate change policy analysts.
The language models also found other jobs to be more than 90 per cent exposed: correspondence clerks, blockchain engineers, court reporters and simultaneous translators; proofreaders and copy markers.
The researchers concluded that they wanted to “observe most occupations” exposed to GPTs and LLMs and finding out the level and degree of affected professions’ exposure.

Critical and positive aspects
ChatGPT has been facing criticism for its inability to perform specific tasks accurately and its tendencies to lie and hallucinate. However, the secret to mastering ChatGPT and getting desired outcomes is choosing the correct prompts for it.
By using specific prompts, users can navigate the chatbot more effectively and achieve more personalised responses, unlocking the full potential of ChatGPT.
The importance of tailoring perfect prompts is so valuable that companies are recruiting experts who can communicate with chatbots effectively and a new job, AI prompt engineering, has emerged in the market with a salary range of up to $300 000 (€275 346).

Such ChatGPT’s features as ability to provide simple and clear information and explanations, etc. make these algorithms attractive to customers. Quite often the answers are so simple, that even the most complicated issues can be understood without having any prior knowledge or experience. Besides, f technical terms required.
As soon as ChatGPTs are functioning through the Internet’s database, they easily customized to peoples’ needs and wishes; it often makes it easier to advice on advertising issues for companies and marketing strategies to build a successful brand in any domain. In the latter regard, ChatGPT can be a helping hand in drafting successful marketing strategies…
On another hand, individuals can use ChatGPT to build a new start-up by following simple step-by-step guides from the chatbot; users have been able to launch businesses and generate profit.

One of the many complaints people have about ChatGPTs is the platform’s inability to provide content tailored to each user. Some say that this leaves many complaining about the “dullness of the responses”, which in some cases makes it see that the answers and advises supplied by an AI.
However, more than often, ChatGPTs are capable of “mimicking one’s own writing styles” and providing sufficient personalised responses.

Note. Our Institute has just found out that Italian government blocked ChatGPT on the ground that this AI’s component “didn’t respect consumers rights”.
